Overview
Description
Supplements: ... (Read more) A few more details about the property: There are large flat rocks around the lake to use as sunning, swimming rocks - including one really big nice one that is very private. Both the pond and lake are very good fishing. The pond has tons of bass. The lake has bass, Pickeral, good sized perch and crappie, blue gill and bullhead. Also, you can fly fish (surface poppers for the bass). is the best. Here's a list of a few of the native plants on the property. Northern Red Oak, White Oak, Ash, Willow, White Pine, Red Maple, Silver Maple, Tuliptree, Quaking Aspen, White Birch, Striped Maple, Black Chokecherry, Chokecherry; High Bush Blueberry, Low Bush Blueberry, Appalachian Barren Strawberry, Woodland Strawberry, Pennsylvania Blackberry, Common Red Raspberry; Goldenrod including Wrinkleleaf Goldenrod, Northern Arrowwood Viburnum, Nannyberry, Trillium, Jack in the Pulpit, Hobblebush, Milkweed, Yarrow, Mayapple, Iris, Doll's-eyes, Browneyed Susan, Jewelweed, Sharp Lobed Hepatica, Solomon's Seal, Whirled Loosestrife, Dogbane, Canada Mayflower, Common Boneset, American Pokeweed, Virginia Creeper, Stout Blue-eyed Grass...etc. Lots of wildlife, including deer, bobcat, black bear, porcupine, groundhog, bobolink, bluebird, hawk, finch, red-winged blackbird, etc Also, 1. If they have good relations w neighbors adjacent to north, they can hike to salt Springs state park which is now quite large - lots of acres to hike and a trout stream 2. The hill west of house i believe is what would be called old growth hardwoods. To the east of lake is an extensive mature (not old growth deciduous hardwoods) . Then further on east still on property, i thinks again its old growth as opposed to mature. 3. Mature and old growth forest is scarce in PA because people log for money. This property hasnt been logged during our ownership - maybe 50 plus years. 4. There are really cool rock formations along north side of the hill west of house, along the north property boundary in the woods east of house, and on the far eastern edge of the property. 5. The huge rock on east side of lake is wonderful for sunning and swimming. 6. If you walk west the south property boundary , you come to where there is an open field on the south side of the boundary. If you look south west west from here , I believe you see elk mountain ski area. 7. The pond in front of the house and the lake down the hill both used to have trout. Stocked trout do well in the lakes and ponds. They won't spawn successfully. However, they thrive and get big.
